A special holiday...and it's not Christmas.

(My birthday shrine taken several weeks ago)

There are only a few holidays that are celebrated in our home;
Easter, Christmas, and My Birthday.

My birthday is usually a big deal - bigger than our wedding anniversary.

If I was never born, there would be no wedding anniversary to celebrate with RM.  I believe he would have remained a bachelor, constantly searching the world for his soul mate - leaving a big hole in his heart that can never be filled by any ordinary woman.

That is why My Birthday is a holiday.

My husband's life became a brighter place when he met me- he's a lucky man.

This year for my birthday, I told RM that he did not need to take a day off from work or get me any presents.  I also told him that I did not want to go out to dinner and preferred leftovers.

He looked stunned and asked me if I had a fever.

I assured him that I did not have a fever and insisted that there were only a few things that I wanted to do for my birthday:

  • Sleep in
  • Read a book in bed
  • Watch Season 4 of Real Housewives of New Jersey
  • Take an afternoon nap
Since my work schedule has taken up a lot of my free time and weekends are used to run errands- having a lazy day at home for my birthday sounded PERFECT

But then RM "insisted" that he take me to get a massage. I live only to make my husband happy and sacrificed an afternoon nap for a relaxing massage.

Don't feel sorry for RM- he got one too!

 Instead of a birthday cake, I had  this chocolate caramel apple instead.
 Better than any birthday cake!
