The End of a Great Summer

My two year old nephew Ben - "The Hulk"

For me, summer ends when my son returns to school.  Moe's fall schedule starts tomorrow- a late start than most colleges.  Though Moe took a few summer courses, he was able to spend most of his summer with us.

It has been one of the busiest summers I have had in a long time.  My responsiblities at work have increased and I'm more involved on the creative side - exciting new skills to add to my resumee!

We have gone on a few family road trips,  accompanied Moe to his football recruiting trips for college, met with friends and family members that we haven't seen in a long time, taken mini get aways, watched most of  the latest blockbuster movies at the theater,  and spent a lot of time with my adorable nieces and nephews.

Of course when you experience a lot of "Highs", there are bound to be some "Lows".   Fortunately, we didn't let those obstacles prevent us from having a memorable summer.

One of the things that we did during the summer was going to our favorite bakery cafe. As we were leaving the bakery, one of the owners asked me to wait for her.  I told Moe and RM to wait for me in the car.

I was surprised and curious to know what she wanted me for.   She grabbed both my hands and gave me this warm smile.

What she said next was unexpected......

"I wanted to let you know, that you have such a beautiful family - you are very lucky."

I immediately teared up and was momentarily speechless.

The only thing I could do or say,  was to squeeze her hands and gave her this reply, "Thank you."

I don't know what she observed with our family to prompt her to say that to me.  But when I reflect of everything that our family has been through this year - she's right.

I  DO have a beautiful family.

What a wonderful compliment. The love and joy you have as a family must radiate all around you.
I can see that.

Where did Moe end up going to college??
Are you still moving to Vegas??

Hopefully those LOWS won't settle in on ya......I don't like those visits.
