A Stress Free Christmas Season

It's hard to believe that for many years the Christmas season used to be the most stressful time of year for me.

I felt obligated to go to every Christmas party that we were invited to. I used to bake a plate of goodies for some of our neighbors & our large extended family- it was time consuming and exhausting. We spent a lot of time & money buying a present for all of our twenty plus nieces & nephews.

This Christmas season, I experienced very little stress. The only Christmas party we went to this year, is ours. We felt very strongly that we wanted to spend the rest of our weekends doing the things that we wanted to do- which is attending Christmas concerts. We love listening to live Christmas music!

RM & Moe were the only recipients of my Christmas goodies and the friends who attended our Christmas party. We gave bottles of sparkling apple cider as gifts- much easier.

Since we spend Christmas Eve with my older sister and her family, we only exchange gifts with her family. Christmas Day is usually just the three of us- just the way we like it.

For the first time in over a decade I mailed Christmas cards! I realized I don't have to mail a Christmas card to every human being that I made contact with since high school. This year, I only mailed Christmas cards to our close friends and family.

And most importantly I remembered to make this Christmas more Christ Centered - it helped put everything into perspective.
