I was going over some journal entries that I have written over the years, and came across an entry that I wanted to share on my blog. It was written when Moe was in junior high school.
Names have been changed to protect the not so innocent.
Moe came home from school today and saw that RM was already home, which is rare since RM doesn't get home until after four. As soon as he saw his dad, he started to barrage him with a series of questions, and wanted his help immediately with a school project.
In the middle of Moe's monologue list of wants and needs - RM put one hand up to silence Moe, and said, "Dad is not available. He is tired and wants to put his legs up and watch a little football. So please leave a message after the beep and he'll get back to you when he's good and ready....BEEEEEEP."
Moe was momentarily stunned, while RM and I burst out laughing. Moe didn't find it funny.
RM still uses the "Dad's not available message" especially when Moe calls RM to put money into his bank account.
And this time Moe usually laughs about it.
