What I want to remember

Several weeks ago when I told a good friend of mine, that RM & Moe would be home for a few weeks for the holidays, she said to me, "Call me if they drive you crazy and we'll go out for a dinner or movie."

I never called her.

I was having too much fun spending time with "my boys".

We went out to the movies, played games, shopped, and ate...Alot. Yesterday we drove as a family to the apple orchards and bought freshly made apple cider and a delicious home baked Sour Cream Dutch apple pie.

I'm usually an early riser, sleeping in for me is staying in bed until seven am. But when RM was home- we rarely got out of bed before nine am.

Despite the chilly winter weather, RM was always wearing shorts, flip flops, and socks. One evening as we were preparing to go out to dinner, the temperature dropped to the low 20s. That didn't stop RM from wearing his shorts, flip flops, and socks.

RM hopes to one day find a job where he can wear shorts and flip flops all year round.

When I find myself feeling irritated picking up after Moe- I remember that he's here, and how much I'll miss him when he goes back to school.

RM went back to work this morning, he won't be home for another a few days. And Moe leaves for school this weekend.

I'm not going to cry when the house is empty and silent.

Instead I'll treasure those moments we had during the holidays and look forward to being together again.

I totally get it. When Adam is home, it's our time. He is gone so much for work, I really don't want to spend time with my friends when he's home.
