Breaking Dawn: A Midnight Experience

I couldn't let another week pass without mentioning my annual outing to watch the midnight premiere of "Breaking Dawn Part I". I was one of those crazy Twilight fans who stood in line for several hours to watch one of the most anticipated sequels. But when you're having fun, you don't notice how many hours you're waiting.

In previous years, we usually meet for dinner at a restaurant near the theater. This year we met at a more "reasonable" time (8:30pm) at my friend Aimee's house for appetizers and dessert. I loved meeting at this time because it gave me time to take a nap before the long evening!

Every year the group consists of about 12 to 15 women. There are only about 4 to 5 of us that have consistently gone for the past 3 years, and the rest of the group changes from year to year. Though there are always new faces every year, I know that we at least have one thing in common- we love all things "Twilight"!

However, my midnight trek to the movies always comes with physical repercussions;

  • migraine headaches
  • upset stomach
  • lack of common sense and temporary stupidity - When I came back home from the movies (it's after 3am) and parked the car- I couldn't remember where the door handle was located! I had to reach for the door handle on the outside! This is what happens when you eat a lot of popcorn, chocolate, licorice, and diet coke after midnight.
The next day RM taped a diagram of the car onto the dashboard with the location of the door handles highlighted in red.

He's lucky I have a sense of humor.
