My Mother's Day Surprise

On Mother's Day, I wasn't expecting any gifts, cards, or flowers- I had absolutely no expectations. So when RM and I went downstairs for breakfast, I was surprised and pleased to see this on our kitchen counter:

I looked at RM and said, "When did you and Moe have time to get the card and flowers."

RM shrugged his shoulders and replied, "I have nothing to do with this. Moe got this for you by himself."

I still didn't believe that Moe got this on his own. "Are you sure you didn't suggest or tell him that he should get me something."

RM smiled and said, "Nope, he got this on his own and this is the first time I've seen this."

Over the years, I have received many gifts and cards by Moe, but he usually has gone with RM or my mother to get them. It meant more to me that he went to the store by himself to get my card and flowers- I was very touched.

I also loved the card! I read the card and felt that Moe designed the card himself. Here are parts of the card:

(bottom portion of the card)
This part is so true! When I ask Moe how his day went or what's going on with him, his usual response is a shrug and something mumbled.

(top portion of the card)
I laughed when I read this portion because I believe that it applies to at least 90 percent of the teenage boys population.

And when I opened the card, the brain changes to show these words: "I Love Mom!"
On the bottom of the card Moe wrote:

"Thanks for everything that you do.
I will always love you".

- Moe

It's a card that I will treasure always.

I bet that brought a tear to your eye eh. How nice of your son. Isn't it wonderful to see them grown and start doing those kinds of things on their own.

and I too watched that Oprah show about diet and the book...hubby and I are re-vamping our eating habits. WOW, did I get lazy with how I eat, how much I eat,and since moving away, have no access to a gym and I used to go EVERY day.
I am 20 lbs heavier and it makes me sick.
so---------here's to healthy eating and healthy outlooks on our life
I'll drink/eat to that

Isn't it the best gift when they do it themselves? How sweet he is to you and I've seen you two together, he meant it! I'm so happy that your day was special...you deserve it!
