I'm Baaaaack!

It has been an EXTREMELY busy week! Usually when I don't have time to post something on my blog, I usually relax by reading & commenting on every one's blogs, but there hasn't been time to do that either! I'm usually so tired, all I want to do is be a vegetable in front of the TV or go right to bed, which is what I do most of the time. This is my son's last week of school and there are lot of stuff that needs to be done before school is over. And the stuff that needs to be done continues even after school is over! I won't bore you with the details, but I'll be spending a lot of time on the road being a chauffeur for my son's various activities and most of them are 40 Min's away! I figure things should start winding down towards the end of July and by that time I'll need a vacation!

Despite the busyness of my life, I have miraculously been able to stick with Weight Watchers. I am on my third week of Weight Watchers. The first week was extremely hard. It was a pain having to record what I ate, there were some days that I forgot. The second week, I got better. I was able to stock up the kitchen with low cal snacks and cook meals that were lean and low cal as well. It became easier to record my food intake. And I lost two pounds this week, that's a total of 4lbs in 3 weeks! Slow and steady! I have noticed my butt getting smaller, which is a miraculous feat! Don't worry, I won't show pictures!

Last week, I exercised consistently and did better at weight training. My pace increased at the treadmill, I increased the incline and I was able to work out longer. It feels good to see my endurance level increase. And I'm at a point, where I feel the need to work out. When I can't go to the gym, I do a work out at home, even if it's only 30 minutes. I am constantly challenging myself and I owe that motivation from reading many of your blogs. I am always amazed that despite personal or physical challenges, every one is able to still find the time to work out.

My second motivation to sticking with my food plan and working out is a silly one. I have a friend who started Jenny Craig about a month ago and she's losing weigh... a lot of it! And she doesn't work out! I think of the weight that she's losing and that keeps me from eating late at night. As I said before, it's a silly reason, but it seems to be working for me. I've always been a very competitive person!

I was just wondering, do you use some of your flex points??

Good job!! I think losing weight while working out is much better than just dropping pounds. Good luck with the crazy month ahead!!! I feel like I live in the car sometimes....it's tough when we love our kids so much and want to support them!:) Lucky kids!!:)

I love competitivity when it comes to weight loss hehe. I have these coworkers who are on the same weight loss monitor program as me, and although we don't talk about it we are secretly competitve (I feel the vibes LOL).

Sounds like you are doing great in your workouts!!! I need the constant challenge too :>

spunksuzi- Yes, I do use my flexpoints! I also use the activity points that I get from exercising, but my goal this week is not to use my activity points. If you don't use your activity points you lose weight faster.

suzanne - I'll need all the luck I can get, thanks! The stuff we do for our kids!

3 month challenge - I agree competition is great, even if the other person doesn't know we're competing with them!

Congrats on keeping up with it all still. It's motivating to hear you're doing well. I need to kick my butt in gear. This last week was horrible and I recommitted yesterday so I'm excited to feel better.

You're doing AWESOME! Stressy times are the hardest!

I still have the calendar where I recorded moving from 1.8 to 2.0 miles per hour. LOL (Hey, I had to start somewhere, right?)

Keep up the great efforts and the great attitude!

I love your food for thought....I can relate to the stress of end of school year. Our girls are out in 1 1/2 weeks and one is graduating so I have all those plans as well. And of course the school thinks they need to get all the extra activities in every night the last 2 weeks.

But yes we'll survive. I have been doing weight watchers for about 3-4 weeks. Even though your friend is losing like crazy on Jenny Craig - is she truly learning good eating habits, after all she's just eating the food she's given. I think weight watchers teaches us life lesson we can use forever - but hey that's just me.

Have a great week.

Stay with it - you're doing great.

I also wonder about the quick weight loss - will she have to eat the JC food forever or will she put it all the weight back on (a la Kirstie Alley) when she leaves the program? I think slow and steady's the way to go.

Love your attitude. I loved your post on your other blog too. I would like to the pictures of you and RM trying to make Moe laugh.

Your doing great. Thanks for the suggestions from yesterday. It helped.

Get ready for a busy summer. When he gets older you'll wish you would have enjoyed it more!

The first month is hard. You learn what products are out there, the cheapest & best ones to buy, etc. It's all a learning process.

Most importantly, remember that if you make a bad choice that does NOT negate the huge amount of great choices you've made thus far! Keep it up, jump back on and keep losing. We are human and not perfect! You keep up the great work!

First, H.K., I have to tell you how much I enjoyed reading your “about me” section. Very funny. It really made me smile. :-)

With almost a month on WW completed, it sounds to me like you’re doing terrific! Yes, for me that first week of any diet is always the toughest, but then it just keeps getting easier.

I’m a slow loser too. It gets a little frustrating at times, but slow and steady if fine, as long as it keeps coming off. What matters most is that we keep the weight off once we lose it. And I don’t see anything wrong with you having your own personal competition with your JC friend if it motivates you to stay on track.

Congrats on your weight loss and the butt shrinkage! :-D
